Carenne School
Carenne School provides teaching and learning to young people with disabilities; helping our school community to establish strong academic, sporting and cultural pursuits.
Carenne is a school for specific purposes located in the Bathurst district. The school provides an education for students with special needs (ages 4 years to 20 years). The school operates on the principle that all children can learn and our primary focus is on developing skills and knowledge to improve student’s personal independence and participation in activities available to all in the community. Each student has an individual education program (IEP) which determines the educational priorities, content and sequence of instruction for each student. The student’s individual plan is prepared with the involvement of parents, teachers and significant others (e.g. therapists, etc.) to ensure consistent implementation in the school, the home and the community.
