Adopt a Country Business Window Display Competition Winners

The judges were blown away with the effort and time local businesses put in and found choosing the winners to be an immensely difficult task. The voting was extremely close with a tie for second place.

The winners are:

1st place – DeJorja & Co – Uruguay

2nd place (tied) – The Church Block Cafe – Ethiopia

2nd place (tied) – Cosventure – Seychelles

Highly commended – Fifty8GEORGE – Solomon Islands

Highly commended – Enid’s Emporium – Japan

Highly commended – Moodie’s Pharmacy – Australia

The window displays created such a buzz around town we added in a People’s Choice award on Facebook to increase business exposure and continue to ‘show off’ the businesses displays and hard work. Voting was close, with the The Watch Doctor taking out People’s Choice.

A massive thank you to all the business who took part, you contributed to making the athletes and teams feel welcomed and supported during their time in Bathurst.

Council has received feedback from athletes who were extremely touched to see the Bathurst community supporting them and their country. Lord Sebastian Coe too passed on his appreciation to local businesses for their efforts, noting its one of the best displays of community spirit they have seen across the world.
