15 May Kickstarts Easing of Some COVID-19 Restrictions

This morning the NSW State Government announced the easing of some of the COVID-19 restrictions.

What does this mean for us? Arguably the most significant easings for our community are those that allow connections – small public gatherings, minimal numbers of guests at weddings, and a small group at funerals – full details of the easings can be found here.

In good news for restaurants and cafés, it is now possible to seat up to 10 patrons indoors, with physical distancing efforts in place. Understandably, some businesses have decided to await further easing to get a better measure of the real impact of the changes, and to be in a better position to make opening to patronage a financially viable option.

Caution is encouraged as we emerge from tight restrictions and it is important that we play our part in regional NSW, to continue with high standards of hand hygiene and adherence to physical distancing.

Let’s not let this dampen our enthusiasm for celebrating our local businesses – they need our support now more than ever. For immediate impact you can call your favourite business and buy a voucher or gift one of our Bathurst Buy Local gift cards to a friend and you’ll be supporting one of the 130 local businesses participating in this great initiative. Check out our Bathurst Buy Local gift cards page for participating businesses and load-up stores OR you can buy online!
