George & Howick St Roundabout Update
The crews have completed the removal of the old roundabout and blisters near the intersection.
The road surface has also been completely removed and the area is watered regularly to keep dust to a minimum.
Work is now focused on reconstruction of the new roundabout, which is expected to be completed by early next week. Over the next few weeks the crews will remove and replace the kerb and gutter.
VMS boards are at key locations near the intersection advising motorists of the closure. Provision for u-turns are available on all approaches.
Pedestrians will continue to have access to businesses, however there will be some impact to parking near the work site and for those that fall within the work zone. Council is also advertising the full closure on local radio, along with a separate ad to advise that all businesses near the work site are open for business.
