Regional Drought Resilience Plan
Bathurst Regional Council, Lithgow City Council and Oberon Council have received funding from Federal and State Governments under the Regional Drought Resilience Planning Program to develop a Regional Drought Resilience Plan. This Plan will identify the region’s priorities and provide a road map of actions to help us prepare and act early to future drought risks, reducing impacts on our people, environment, and economy.
Thank you to the community and stakeholders who participated in the recent consultation conducted throughout October. We appreciate the feedback and insights provided. Bathurst, Lithgow and Oberon Councils are now in the process of shortlisting the actions recommended and developed by the community, before they are finalised and included in the final Regional Drought Resilience Plan. The CSIRO will then review the plan before implementation in 2024.
