Meet the Crauford Family
After years of visiting family in Oberon, the Crauford’s decided to make the move from Castle Hill in Sydney to the Bathurst Region. Leaving behind a frenzied pace lifestyle that allowed for limited family time, the Crauford’s found the open space and welcoming community they were looking for.
‘Since making the change, life has slowed to a more manageable pace. We used to have one family dinner a week, now we have one most nights. We feel like we have found a much more balanced life…There’s a real acceptance and a lovely melting pot of people.’ Emma Crauford.
Meet the Mandal Family
Jaydeep and Raji were looking for the perfect home to start a family. Having decided with 99.9% certainty that Singapore was the place for them, the Mandal’s agreed to consider Australia before making a final decision. After waking up to the view of Mount Panorama Wahluu and a warm welcoming by the medical community, the Mandal’s knew Bathurst was the place they wanted to call home.
‘We have everything here: art, sport, education, activities for us and our children, and all the schools have a very good reputation,’ Jaydeep Mandal
Meet the Roberts Family
For seven years the Roberts family have called rural locale of White Rock in Bathurst home. After separately relocating to Broken Hill from Sydney where they met, Angela and Darren Roberts made the move to Bathurst. Their 10-acre property provides all the space they need to raise their young family.
‘I really enjoy it here,’ says Angela, who highlights the space, the landscape, and the community as her greatest joys.
Meet the Meurer Family
When they realised their family was quickly outgrowing their Petersham home, Sarah Emms and Strath Meurer decided adding an extra million to their mortgage wasn’t what they wanted. Having always flirted with the idea of living in Bathurst, the Meurer’s made the move after getting permission from their employers to work remotely.
‘We wanted space and we were definitely craving less chaos. Just a break from the city pace of life,’ says Sarah. ‘Here the boys go out into the bush behind our house for hours, and that freedom and sense of safety wasn’t something we felt we had in the city.’
